Ms. Cherie Fairfax is the founder of Sunrise ADA Foundation, a not-for-profit construction firm established in 2009 to provide ADA compliant homes with an emphasis on military veterans, some with physical disabilities, and services to underserved communities. Cherie is the daughter of Mr. James A. Fairfax, United States Marine Corps (Retired), a distinguished and decorated Combat Artist who served in Vietnam with artworks in several museums. Her compassion, commitment, and dedication to serving is tethered to her father’s commitment in service, while raising two daughters as a single parent.
Cherie has over 20 years in the construction industry as a licensed general contractor and registered VA Builder. She has met enormous challenges and faced unreasonable roadblocks that would discourage most people. She faces challenges with a level of professionalism and standards of excellence that she expects from herself as well as her sub-contractors working as a vital team.
Cherie has put years of hard work and has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a residential and commercial builder with an emphasis on customized ADA home retrofitting, renovation, and new construction. She ensures her customers receive all the required amenities they so rightfully deserve. The detailed attention she puts into her work transforms not only the home… it also transforms the life of every client.
Ms. Fairfax has a huge heart felt empathy for all, especially for Veterans. There have been a few occasions when Cherie, who also enjoys riding her motorcycle has helped to coordinate what is called ‘The Cycle of Celebration’, a motorcycle motorcade of riders that would visit the Veteran. This ride of respect is so rewarding to all who participate and is especially welcoming to the Veteran. Cherie is sincerely caring and a true believer that America can never do enough for those who serve.
The Sunrise ADA Foundation is her passion to service for all who seek someone that will exceed their expectations with compassion and dedication. Ms. Fairfax’s generosity started with years of service in one of the largest most compassionate organizations in the world, the American Red Cross. Ms. Fairfax is also a supporter of ‘Be The Match’, a non-profit organization seeking to connect at need patients with life-threatening issues with a volunteer donor. Cherie went above and beyond by donating stem cells to a man with acute leukemia. She also spoke at Legislation Day in Washington DC to help obtain funds for the organization with focus on minority participation. There is no need to wonder why the Sunrise ADA Foundation offers more than the usual construction services. This is a Foundation that brings with it Cherie’s lifelong love of giving to all she serves so diligently.
